Mission:
To inspire, develop and connect leaders to serve the Springfield Community.
Vision:
The Board of Directors of Leadership Springfield will: Develop a dynamic and informed network of graduates for the Springfield community who are engaged, committed citizens and leaders in the workplace. Provide programs and guidance to develop and encourage effective and influential leadership that strengthens the Springfield community. Provide avenues for graduates for professional development, offering revelant and meaningful education and networking opportunities. Encourage professional relationships and leadership development of graduates in their companies and organizations.
Strategic Goals
The following three-year strategic goals encompass essential components that will ensure Leadership Springfield's continued success, relevance, growth, and sustainability of the Springfield community. We will: - Improve overall operation of the Leadership Springfield Board with a focus on committee responsiblities.
- Provide quality, relevant programs that meet the evolving needs of our community.
- Provide opportunities for alumni to continue to network and learn after graduation.
- Introduce potential class participants to the programs of Leadership Springfield.
- Serve as a resource for available opportunities for community and civic involvement for alumni.

*Goal 1* Board Development
Improve overall operation of the Leadership Springfield Board with a focus on committee responsiblity. - Maximize Leadership Springfield's relationship with the Chamber of Commerce by utilizing the resources available.
- Improve on-boarding process for new board members.
- Clarify responsiblities of staff assigned to Leadership Springfield.
- Create ongoing paid internship position to support work of committees.
- Create plan for use/investment of funds generated by Springfield On Board game.
Board Development Measures- 100% of board members have completed the orientation process by July 2012.
- New job description created for staff support.
- Plan in place for Springfield On Board money.
*Goal 2* Class Committees
Provide quality, relevant programs that meet the evolving needs of our community. - Leadership Springfield and Leadership Academy will evaluate program content and curriculum to ensure continued focus on leadership development.
- Put process in place for ongoing evaluation of program outcomes.
- Encourage alumni to serve as program day advisors for both the Class and Academy.
Board Development Measures- Updated objective reflective of community issues and needs are available to incoming class participants.
- Instruments in place for 100% of program days and retreats to measure satisfaction and learning for all Leadership Springfield programs.
*Goal 3* Membership Development
Provide opportunties for alumni to continue to network and learn after graduation. Introduce potential class participants to the programs of Leadership Springfield. Serve as a resource for available opportunities for community and civic involvement for alumni. - Provide opportunities for education and networking that engage alumni.
- Take advantage of educational and networking opportunities to engage new audiences to the programs of Leadership Springfield.
- Encourage new alumni to serve on Leadership Springfield committees.
- Collect and compile current civic involvment information and future service interests (by category) from current class members and alumni.
- Conduct alumni surveys to gather relevant data.
Board Development Measurements- Alumni satisfaction measured and communicated to the board on a bi-annual basis.
- Participation of at least 50% of dues paying members in at least one event per year.
- 75% of dues collected from new graduates of Leadership Springfield.
- Share results of alumni renewal interest forms for committee work by August.
*Goal 4* Communications
Develop a comprehensive strategy that guides marketing, social media, communications and public relations efforts. - Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that addresses the needs of the committees of the Leadership Springfield Board.
Board Development Measurements- Increase membership of Leadership Springfield Facebook group by 50%
- Promote and recap Leadership Springfield events. May include photos.
- Facebook ads utilized for each Membership Development event and application process.
- Increase alumni participation on the Communications committee by 40%.
- Quarterly newletter disseminated via email and Facebook beginning in September 2011.
*Goal 5* Sponsorship/Fundraising
Provide effective financial support to the programs of Leadership Springfield. - Evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising events to ensure sucess of efforts in meeting the needs of the programs of Leadership Springfield.
Board Development Measurements- Meet 100% of the fundraising goal set by the Leadership Springfield Board of Directors.
